I’ve got something amazing to tell you all. I went to the (Free) Melbourne Careers Expo today.
Yeah, I know. I did something that didn’t directly involve a computer! :O
Fairly interesting stuff. I’ve now narrowed my uni choices down to Swinburne, Deakin, RMIT and MIT, since they’re the only Universities that offer IT courses that are somewhat decent. I especially like Swinburne. They have a thing called Industry Based Learning, where, for part of my course, I work within the industry related to my studies (in this case, IT), and I get paid for it.
I ruled out Victoria Uni – They only have IT courses at one of their TAFE’s, and Certificate I in IT has the core units of “Operate a personal computer”, “Operate a word processing application” and “Send and retrieve information using web browsers and email”. Like you even need a certificate for that kind of crap. If a employer saw that you had done that certificate on your resume, and bothered to check what the course contained, they would probably decide not to hire you, I reckon.
Anyways, at this stage, I’m favouring going to Swinburne.
Good work, keep up the quest for your Uni
You have a bright future ahead of you, my son.
We may end up at the saem uni
Why the fuck would you do an IT course and not a software engineering/computer science course.
The universities down here don’t keep the same names for their courses. So where one might have a computer science course, the next uni might have a similar depth course named as an IT course.
It’s annoying.
just show them this site spilt and you’ll get any job.
cool story bro
