I dunno. There’s not really anything amazing that happened today, especially since it was just school, but today felt good. Like, really good. Things went smoothly, no negative things really happened… you know, good.
First off, at school, I had IT. Good subject, because we’re either doing nothing, or programming, and both of those things I can enjoy thoroughly. Plus, we usually throw jokes and insults around, and generally just talk, so it’s almost like we’ve started recess at 8.55.
Then, after (the extended) recess was over, it was time for Methods. We’re learning about random discrete variables (probability and statistics, essentially), and today we covered the concept of an expected value, encountering things like standard deviations and variance, which I have actually seen and used before (did it with ausgather.net, although I’ve since removed using statistical deviation as I figured it was kinda useless… only really showed the most active people for the current month).
My friends, however, who do specialist mathematics with me, did not have a clue what was going on. That made me just feel smarter. Sure, they could do the maths, but they had no idea how any of it worked.
Specialist was quite easy, just flying through the theory and doing a few questions, and then my friends asked the specialist teacher to help clarify standard deviations and variance. I don’t think they get it still.
You might be thinking at this point that my day is actually quite shit, because I’m doing three periods of maths. But it’s not about what subjects I had. It’s about how they went: smoothly. No hiccups. The day was just sweet.
To top it all off, though… After lunch, I had a SAC (school assessed coursework) 90 minute test for Methods. No, don’t groan, because for me, this stuff is easy. And it was. I didn’t rush the test like I usually do (because I have the mentality of “I know this, why bother taking it slow?”, but that makes me make mistakes, so…), just took it nice and slow, answered the questions correctly and all. It felt really good. Seriously, if I don’t get 100% for this SAC, I’m going to be one angry pool of hot liquid.
To top it all off, I still managed to get home at normal time. I have to walk a long way to catch a bus to get home early. There’s a long street to walk down at one point, and you go around the corner and the bus stop is right there. As long as you keep your head up, you can see if you miss the bus or not. The bus goes around a couple of streets and comes near the end of the next street over, so you can catch up to the bus again if it goes past.
But only if you run.
And tonight, the bus went past.
And I ran.
Not jogging, mind you. Sprinting.
In a jumper and a blazer.
With the hot sun shining down on me.
In school shoes.
Good to know I can still run about 500m flat out.
And I come home now to find the classless update for TF2 has been released. <3 Valve. It pretty much rounded off what was otherwise a great day.
Heh methods test today, 100% i think, was too easy.
