Mathematical Proverbs

Dunno if you’ve heard these jokes before, but I’ve seen them a while ago… thought they were pretty good.

-

First one proves that girls are evil, kinda for the nerds who are unlikely to fall in love… like me D:

First, we take the proverb “Girls are Time and Money”

Girls = Time x Money

Then, we take the proverb “Time is Money”

Girls = Money^2

Then, we take the proverb “Money is the root of all evil” (which was proved to be true last night on Channel 10)

Girls = (sqrt(Evil))^2

Therefore, Girls = Evil

-

This second one is more of an engineering joke, taking it out on the bosses who get paid more than the people actually physically doing the work.

First, we take the formula that every good engineer should know

Work = Power x Time

Then, we take the proverb “Knowledge is Power”

Work = Knowledge x Time

Then, we take the proverb “Time is Money”

Work = Knowledge x Money

Then, we transpose the formula to get this

Money = Work / Knowledge

From this final formula, we can determine that the less you know, the more money you’ll be paid, no matter how much work you actually do!

:D
